
Dr. Dean Bartles has four decades of managerial expertise in manufacturing and technology. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) and Advanced Manufacturing International, Inc. (AMI) are both under his leadership as president and CEO of the Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group, Inc., a not-for-profit holding company. Prior to becoming president and CEO of NCDMM in May 2019, Dr. Bartles served on the organization's board of directors since 2010. He was previously the Director of the John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center at the University of New Hampshire and the President of the National Tooling and Machining Association. Dr. Bartles also served as the Chief Manufacturing Officer of UI LABS and the founding Executive Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute in Chicago. Dr. Bartles spent 30 years at General Dynamics Company, where he established and managed production facilities in Turkey, Egypt, and the United States, growing revenue from $135 million to over $600 million between 2001 and 2014. His specialties include Digital Manufacturing, Model-Based Enterprise, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, cutting-edge robotics, and innovative factory design.
