Uma Valeti is Co-Founder and CEO of Upside Foods (formerly Memphis Meats), which in 2023 became the first company to receive USDA approval to sell lab-grown chicken in the United States.
A cardiologist by training, Valeti co-founded the cultivated meat company in 2015 to produce real meat from animal cells without slaughter. Upside has raised over $600 million from Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and Tyson Foods.
