By turning YouTube math tutorials into a free, 150-million-user global classroom spanning 50 languages — and now deploying an OpenAI-backed AI tutor — Khan has built the most widely accessed nonprofit education platform ever created.
Sal Khan is Founder and CEO of Khan Academy, the nonprofit educational organization he founded in 2008 after tutoring his cousin in math through YouTube videos.
Khan Academy serves over 150 million registered users in more than 50 languages, covering math, science, history, economics, and computer programming. The organization launched Khanmigo, an AI-powered tutor built with OpenAI. Khan holds degrees from MIT and Harvard Business School.
