Ryan Cohen is the Chairman and CEO of GameStop and the Co-Founder and former CEO of Chewy, the online pet products retailer that he built into the largest pure-play pet e-commerce company before selling it to PetSmart for $3.35 billion in 2017.
Cohen founded Chewy in 2011 with a focus on customer service that drove explosive growth. He acquired a significant stake in GameStop and became its Chairman, sparking the 2021 meme stock phenomenon, and took over as GameStop CEO in September 2023. Under his leadership, GameStop has returned to profitability and in 2026 made an unsolicited $56 billion bid for eBay.
