By building The Kitchen restaurant chain, Square Roots' container-farm network supplying Gordon Food Service, and Big Green's 600-plus school gardens, Kimbal Musk has constructed a vertically integrated case that local, urban-grown food can reshape how Americans eat.
Kimbal Musk is Co-Founder of The Kitchen Restaurant Group, a chain of community-focused restaurants across the western United States, and Co-Founder of Square Roots, an urban farming company growing produce in shipping containers.
He also co-founded Big Green, a nonprofit that has installed over 600 outdoor learning gardens in U.S. schools. Musk sits on the board of Tesla and is the younger brother of Elon Musk.
