Garry Tan is President and CEO of Y Combinator, which he took over in 2023, and a co-founder of Initialized Capital.
He became a YC partner in 2011 after his startup Posterous was acquired by Twitter, and as a partner was an early investor in Coinbase, Instacart, and GitLab. In 2012 he co-founded Initialized Capital with Alexis Ohanian before leading YC's expansion into AI-focused batches.
