Bom Kim is the Founder and Chairman of Coupang, the e-commerce giant headquartered in Seattle, Washington, with operations primarily serving South Korea.
Kim is a Korean-American entrepreneur who dropped out of Harvard Business School to pursue his vision of building the most customer-centric commerce experience in Asia. Under his leadership, Coupang went public on the NYSE in 2021 and built a vertically integrated logistics network powering its Rocket Delivery service. Following a major data breach in late 2025, Coupang's previous CEO resigned and Harold Rogers was appointed interim CEO, while Kim remains the company's founder and controlling figure as designated by South Korea's Fair Trade Commission in 2026.
